Centre for Visual Computing of Collectives
Our campus has a new research building: In the north, between buildings Z and T, the new building ZT was constructed over the past three years, and will be home to the “Centre for Visual Computing of Collectives” (VCC). On 12 May 2021, the Landesbetrieb Vermögen und Bau, Konstanz office, officially handed over the new building to the University of Konstanz.

Foundation stone for the Center for
Visual Computing of Collectives laidOn 24 July 2018, the foundation stone was laid for the "Center for Visual Computing of Collectives" (VCC), a new top-level research centre at the University of Konstanz for the study of swarm and collective behaviour. At the new centre, biologists and computer scientists will work together to pursue common research goals, underlining the University of Konstanz's interdisciplinary research approach.
New top-level research centre
With the "Center for Visual Computing of Collectives", the University of Konstanz establishes a new top-level research centre for the study of swarm and collective behaviour. Facilitating the joint exploration of collective behaviour by biologists and computer scientists, it illustrates the interdisciplinary approach adopted by the University of Konstanz. The collaboration of behavioural biologists and experts of data analysis and visualisation opens new paths to answer highly relevant research questions.
